Apr 26, 2019 · The NETGEAR genie only works when your mobile device is connected to a NETGEAR router that is in router mode, not in access point mode. The NETGEAR genie app does not work with a wireless extender or repeater. The NETGEAR genie app currently does not support IPv6. If IPV6 is enabled, logging in to the router using the genie app will fail.
Have a NetGear WiFi I have used for several yrs. & despite a hack to WiFi not too long ago, tried to change the password to no avail, as it was suggested for security. The router was strictly private use. So used it w/o any problems. Because of 2 walls and 2 corners, the WiFi signal was weak in L.R. & D.R for 3 devices.
