Another priceless resource is the Slackware Documentation Project. linux - Can apt-get work in Slackware or other Linuxes The package slapt-get is the Slackware implementations of apt-get. slapt-get install whatever-package. Any way you should be able to compile it on any OS. Of course you might have to do some small changes to the source if the repos structure and files to download are very different.
Important: Slackware ARM -current is a hard float port and Slackware ARM 14.2 is a soft float port. DO NOT try to install Slackware ARM -current using a 14.2 installer (and vice versa) or you will encounter problems. The application binary interface (ABI) uses different flags for soft float and hard float versions and, as such, are incompatible with each other!

Installing Slackware Linux - Full tutorial Slackware DVD - Get Slack. Patience and spare time. Optionally - a virtualization product like VMware Player or Server. I will install Slackware 11.0 (the latest release) in VMware Server, although for all practical purposes, the installation process is similar to one done on real hardware. Order the latest version of Slackware Linux on CD-ROM (6 CDs in all), or the whole distribution on a single DVD from The Slackware Store. Or, you can get your Slackware ISOs through BitTorrent using our torrents page. Or again, you can download the complete Slackware distribution from one of our mirrors. The best and supported way is to install off a network, exporting the Slackware ARM tree from an NFS server. This procedure is described in the installation documents. However, once the installer is booted, if you have a USB DVD/CD drive then it is possible to install the packages from it.
